A copper figure sits face to face with a bear, neither one flinching, neither one imposing. There is no dominance in this moment, just two beings in quiet recognition of each other. The bear has always been a symbol of raw power. I spent a long time confusing volume with strength. I am not sure I have it all figured out, but I know it feels different now. Leading gently is harder than it looks.
The sculpture sits on a hand-finished, oil-rubbed walnut base with a custom copper stand. A small copper nameplate on the stand displays K Perrault and the year.
