Kevin Perrault creates sculptures that live at the intersection of permanence and play. Working with copper and stone, his practice centers on figures that are at once monumental and delicate, characters who embody calm, style, and a sense of timeless humanity. Each piece balances refined craftsmanship with the raw beauty of natural materials, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and connect.
His series, Gentle Giants, explores archetypes and moments that feel both familiar and universal. From surfers frozen in perfect flow, to meditative gatherings on stone, to scenes of quiet companionship, Kevin’s work plays with scale and perception while staying deeply rooted in human emotion. Copper figures perch, balance, and breathe atop heavy stones, accompanied by walnut bases that add warmth and grounding.
Kevin’s path to sculpture was anything but direct. He studied design at UCLA, played soccer at the highest level, and was part of a national championship. Yet he spent twenty-five years in a family business, far from the studio, building a life rooted in responsibility and work outside the arts. Eventually he returned to his artistic roots with a renewed sense of purpose, bringing all of that life experience into the work he makes today.
These sculptures are reminders that stillness can be as powerful as movement, and that small gestures can carry enormous meaning. They are not bound by one story, instead they create space for viewers to see themselves, to reflect their own story.
Kevin’s work has quickly found an audience drawn not only to the craftsmanship but to the spirit of community behind it. Whether shown in a solo exhibition or placed in a private home, his work carries the same intent: inviting viewers to see the familiar from new angles and discover the power of our shared stories.
Every sculpture is unique, every stone chosen for its own character, and every figure brought to life with painstaking attention. Together, they create a body of work that is as enduring as it is tender.
